  • There are many reasons to come to therapy. Many people who seek therapy are low support needs individuals who are wanting help with the troubles of their everyday life. They enter therapy to explore questions or dilemmas, get clarity around difficult choices, or examine their relationships, gaining tools and self-support to meet the world where it is.

    Others come to therapy facing unusual or overwhelming life events. These people seek help dealing with problems that can feel overpowering or even devastating. Most of us could use a little support at any time.

  • My fee for a 50 minute individual psychotherapy or coaching session is $225 and my fee for a 50 minute couples session is $275.

  • A limited number of reduced-fee slots are available to people who cannot afford my full rate.

  • I do not accept insurance directly, but I can provide invoices or super bills that clients then submit to their health care provider for possible reimbursement.

  • In order to avoid the full charge of our session, please cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours notice. This policy applies to both events that are within and outside of your control, including illness.

  • There are many reasons to choose real therapy over AI.

    AI won’t tune into your body language, the cadence of your words, tone of your voice, or notice your non-verbal cues. It can’t empathize, use intuition, or bring real world experiences to the therapeutic relationship.

    Rather than just giving you boiler plate advice, we’ll be your fellow travelers in a sacred process of guided discovery, helping you come to your own realizations and initiate deep and lasting change.

    Furthermore, therapists can assess crisis, intervene and navigate ethics and safety with nuanced compassion and care.

    Technology is great for psychoeducation, dispensing simple tools, or perhaps giving support in between sessions, but make no mistake, real change only comes from real connection.

  • Our first session will be a chance for us to talk about what is bringing you into therapy at this time. I’ll ask you questions about your life today as well as questions about your background. It’s also your opportunity to get to know me a little bit and together, weʼll decide if we’re a good match. If we don’t agree to work together, I’ll do my best to give you a great referral.

  • The law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and a psychotherapist.

    However, there are number of exceptions to this rule:

    • In cases of suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse. The therapist is required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.

    • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s.

    • If a client intends to harm themselves. The therapist will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in insuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, further measures may be taken without their permission, in order to ensure their safety.

  • Gestalt Therapy is one of the first holistic styles of therapy. The word “gestalt” refers to the concept of wholeness and implies that the whole is much more than the sum of its parts; Just like we are much more than the individual parts of our personality.

    A typical session together might focus on your moment to moment awareness, including your thoughts, senses, feelings and fantasies. My job is not to explain or interpret, but to accompany you on this journey and to reflect to you what I notice. Our sessions are often active and might invite you to participate in awareness raising activities, experiments and movements.

  • As of January 1, 2002, under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost with any of your medical providers. If you are planning to pay for services yourself and would like a Good Faith Estimate from me at any time during our work together, please ask.  We will review this GFE anytime there is an adjustment to fees in the future. 

    Please note: I request payment at the time of therapy services, so you should not receive a bill from me unless you have not paid for a service when rendered. You will also be given information regarding my session fees, cancellation fees, and any fees associated with your treatment) in your informed consent forms. However, if you were to receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, the law states you can dispute the bill.  Please save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate.
